Team KATSANA had the chance to attend GITEX Tech Week, at Dubai World Trade Center, from 16-20th October 2016. The team was represented by Head of Product, Izuddin Helmi, Senior Engineer, Khairul Ashraf and the founder, Syed Ahmad Fuqaha.

It was a last hour decision to visit GITEX as we had an urgent requirement to scout for new hardwares and meet partners during the expo. The four day trip saw us taking flight from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Friday 14th October 2016, and transiting for a connecting flight in Colombo.

GITEX is arguably one of the largest tech events on the planet. There were so many halls focusing on present and bleeding edge technologies. Taking center stage were Virtual & Augmented Reality, Artificial intelligence, Cyber security, machine learning, connected cars (yeay!), big data and cloud computing.
Since we are a big data/connected cars company, a lot of these photos revolves around our ecosystem. Hope you’ll like it!

Huawei seems to go all-out on Internet-of-Things. This picture is showing architecture of connected vehicle solution.

Huawei also presented their version of smart bus shelter. Reminded us on our very own KATSANA Shuttle public bus tracking system.

Drone is all the rage now, everyone seems to be coming up with one.

This vehicle moves autonomously. It has bright sensors around its perimeters to detect any hurdles and will stop or try to circumvent it.

And we ended the second day tour with some crazy expensive pizzas. It appeared to us that any western food tend to be priced highly in Dubai while local, yet really tasty food are quite generous in serving portions and rather cheaper.
