kejara system implementation

KEJARA system, which stands for Kesalahan Jalan Raya is not novel or untested. In fact, countries like United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Canada & Singapore imposes similar system to curb down traffic offence to great success. Hence, a much welcomed change.

Since 15th of April 2017, Road Transport Department (Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan, JPJ), have been enforcing the KEJARA Demerit point system against traffic offenders

For business owners, adapting to new regulations is not a matter of if, but when and how. Businesses will need to look into new avenues in managing risks and penalties

Individual Driver Profilling

KEJARA system works outside of the typical monetary fine system. It levels the field across the entire socioeconomic spectrum by imposing penalties through demerits.

The penalty for commercial vehicles are higher compared to private drivers and may lead to license suspension. This is in hopes of encouraging business owners to promote safer driving among their fleet to avoid hiccups which may affect bottom lines. Profiling risky drivers and weed out bad driving behaviours averts avoidable complications.

With tools like Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags, each driver will have their own unique driving profile logged into KATSANA Fleet management system. The dashboard scores each driver as to their actual on road behavior. Fleet manager will then be able to flag risky drivers and manage the risks.
