Exactly a month ago, KATSANA version 3.2 has been released on April 28, 2015. Subsequently, a minor update v3.2.1 was released on May 2, 2015.
The release comes with roughly 15 improvements and new features that are made available to all our customers. Lets go through the major features one by one and see how our continuous development can help fleet managers to save costs and have better accountability of the drivers & vehicles.

A complete list of our updates can be viewed in the changelog.

A more optimized Route History page

Comparison between new History page (front) and the History page in version 3.1 (back)
The Route History page saw a fresh update where we have added quite a number of new features to accentuate the detail of vehicle’s movement. The new features in Route history are

This is a new Timeline feature that enables fleet operators to quick summarize the working hour, start & stop time, and the utilization hours of the vehicle. Each blue line in the Timeline signals the time of movement for the vehicle.

  • New movement Timeline section
  • New simplified daily route filter
  • New vehicle summary for the specific day, highlights the distance, maximum speed & total violations
  • New Print Report feature to display speed in graph

Movement Timeline in route history

We have added a timeline in the route history to show you vehicle’s movement over a 24H period for each day. The colored section in the timeline signifies the time period where the vehicle is on the move. By scrolling the day back and forth (through our new day filter, to be explained below), you may quickly understand and audit the driving behavior of your drivers, ensuring that the vehicles are used in an optimized, and efficient manner.

Printable Speeding Report with detailed Speed Graph

While viewing the Route History, you will also notice a new ‘Print Report’ option located at the top right of the map (next to Export CSV). This new Report page is developed to enable fleet managers to print out and have a hard copy of the vehicle’s speeding record of any given day.

This Speeding Report is optimized to be printed on a sheet of A4/Letter-size paper. On top of that, fleet managers are able to drill down to specific timespan within a day to get a thorough view of the incident.

Simplified, easy-to-use Daily Route Filter

KATSANA strives to be known as a user-friendly, and modern GPS tracking platform for consumers and enterprises. Along with the narrative, we have further improved the history filter to be easier and quicker to navigate. Gone is the old multi-day route selection, we have replaced it with single-day route selection that allow users to view vehicle movement for any day with just a single click.
Combine that ease of use with the detail provided through our new Timeline feature, you will be amazed at how quickly a vehicle’s movement history is dissected and presented before your eyes.

Alert for stationary vehicle

An alert has been added on to the History page whenever there’s no data available for the selected date. This alert is meant to inform users that the vehicle does not exhibit any movement and thus there’s no data transmitted to Katsana Platform.

Ability to print Vehicle list and status

A small yet beneficial feature, we have added a Print button in Vehicle List page to print out the status of all your vehicles. This is mighty useful for operations who wish to have a printout of assets at every morning or late afternoon for documentation purposes.
The printed page will contain

  • Vehicle registration number
  • Vehicle Description
  • Current speed & current status
  • Location and precise coordinates
  • Total odometer value / distance this month
  • Total violations this month
  • Last update timestamp

Modern, light new email design

Lets be honest, the blue color scheme in the previous design was a bit garish. Design-wise, it is so 2012. In line with some major aesthetic changes in future version of Katsana, we decided to inject the future color scheme into Katsana’s notification emails, just to give you a glimpse of the experience in Katsana v4.0. 😉

Streamlined Policy Creation & Assignment procedure

Policies are simply rules that your vehicles have to obey. Katsana is designed to free fleet managers from the desk, for them to be able to use the time more efficiently instead of watching over computer monitors. Let Katsana does all the monitoring, and be notified once any of the vehicles violate your configured rules.
In Katsana v3.2, we have streamlined the creation of new policies with the ability to immediately select the vehicles that should follow the newly created policy. This we hope, will eliminate the need to open up individual vehicle profile and manually assign the policy one by one for your preferred vehicle. 🙂
I think thats all for now. Stay tuned for more exciting updates in the next version of Katsana!
Thank you for all your support and trust.
